Our application product co-development capabilities range from prototype development to product development and ongoing enhancements. The framework identifies specific software engineering and product management roles in the product life cycle. NTT DATA FA Insurance Systems works with clients at the commencement of a relationship to define client roles and areas of joint responsibility.
NDM is NTT DATA FA Insurance Systems’ methodology for delivering and implementing our core Products. NDM is designed to bring clarity to the process of implementing Core Insurance package solutions along with a few non-core solutions. NDM caters to three specific Project Types followed by the Organization, namely Standard, Medium and Large Projects.
The objective of this methodology is to standardize the delivery process to be followed by projects pan organization as well to externalize it to achieve scalability while working with NTT DATA FA Insurance Systems’ partners.
NDM provides a tool that helps categorize a project based on various attributes and elaborates the required specifications for each of these Project types. NDM standardizes Project Phases, Activities, Deliverables, Templates, Checklists, Guidelines as well as Entry and Exit criteria for each Activity, while also standardizing Project Roles by prescribing a detailed RACI Matrix based on Project Activities and Project Roles. NDM also prescribes an Effort Estimation Tool which covers all aspects of the Projects; provides Process Flow Diagrams for each Activity as well as an Integrated Process Flow, making for a holistic view. Detailed Description of NDM and its Templates, Checklists, Guidelines that aid Project execution are available in the NDM Portal. Listed next are the specific project types that are followed by NTT DATA FA Insurance Systems.
In a Standard Project, the scope of Configuration of the Core Insurance Packaged Solution is limited to a certain number of Lines of Business (LOBs) and Products, and a few other aspects of Configuration. The quantum of Customization that is allowed in a Standard Project is limited. A Standard Project includes a limited number of Integrations, namely for Email, SMS, Payment Gateway, GL Link and Regulatory Feeds. Integration to DMS or any other Third-Party Service is not included. The number of Reports in a Standard Project are limited. A Standard Project also does not include a Portal Solution, Workflow, ODS or Data Migration. Non-Functional Requirements are limited to the organization’s standard offering. Other than UI, Project Language is restricted to English, including the User Manuals.
In a Standard Project, NTT DATA FA Insurance Systems only conducts System Testing which is expected to be followed by the Customer’s User Acceptance Test (UAT). Major Changes (as defined by NDM guidelines) are not accepted in a Standard Project.
In a Medium Project, the scope of Configuration of the Core Insurance Packaged Solution is increased compared to a Standard Project, in terms of the Lines of Business (LOBs) and Products offered, and other certain other aspects of Configuration. The quantum of Customization that can be done in a Medium Project is increased compared to a Standard Project. A Medium Project can include a larger number of Integrations over and above that offered in a Standard Project; however, DMS Integration is not included. The number of Reports made available in a Medium Project are larger than that provided with a Standard Project. A medium Project can include a certain number of Workflows and a Portal solution for B2B on Retail business. ODS or Data Migration from a single legacy system can be made in scope. Medium Projects can also accommodate certain Non-Functional Requirements beyond the standard NTT DATA FA Insurance Systems offering. Multi Language support can be provided for UI and other Project Deliverables.
In a Medium Project, NTT DATA FA Insurance Systems is responsible for Component Integration Testing and System Integration Testing which is then followed by the Customer’s User Acceptance Test (UAT). In the event that the Project meets criteria that span across Medium and Large Projects, the final Project Type is determined based on the weightage of multiple parameters as defined by NDM.
In a Large Project, the scope of Configuration of the Core Insurance Packaged Solution is further increased compared to a Medium Project, in terms of the Lines of Business (LOBs) and the Products being offered as well as other aspects of Configuration. The quantum of Customization that can be done in a Large Project is increased compared to a Medium Project. Large Projects can include a greater number of Integrations, on top of what is offered in a Medium Project; they may also include integrations to multiple third-party services. The quantum of Reports provided in a Large Project is higher as compared to a Medium Project. A Large Project can include Workflows, a Portal solution for B2B and B2C on Retail and Commercial business and ODS or Data Migration from the existing legacy system. Large Projects can accommodate certain Non-Functional Requirements beyond the standard offering.
In a Large Project, NTT DATA FA Insurance Systems is responsible for Component Integration Testing, System Testing and System Integration Testing which is then followed by the Customer’s User Acceptance Test (UAT). In the event that the Project meets certain criteria that span across Medium and Large Projects, the final Project Type is determined based weightage of these parameters.
